If you’ve been following along here for a while, you know I’m all about public art! I love how it uplifts communities and creates lasting impressions. But for today’s post, I want to talk specifically about commercial murals and why they’re such a powerful tool for businesses.
Over the past 10 years, I’ve had the opportunity to work with some amazing commercial clients, and I’ve seen firsthand how a mural can completely transform a space and a brand. Whether it’s a restaurant, retail shop, apartment complex, or corporate office, hand-painted commercial murals can actually be a strategic investment in your business. And they’re awesome to look at 🙂

Studies on visual memory show that people actually remember visuals 65% better than text alone! That means that when someone walks past your business and sees an eye-catching mural, they’re WAY more likely to remember your brand than if they just saw a sign. Murals leave lasting impressions, which can be amazing for your brand!

Public art has been shown to increase dwell time, which means exactly what it sounds like– it’s the length of time that people spend in a space. And when people linger longer in a commercial space, they’re more likely to spend money!
Whether it’s a coffee shop where customers want to take photos with your mural, an outdoor shopping center where people hang out like we did at the mall in the 90s, or an apartment complex where residents feel more connected to their community, murals create an environment that makes people want to stick around. This is invaluable for your business.

Whenever I’m on-site painting a commercial mural, I always share behind-the-scenes content on my social media account and tag the business throughout the process. The cross-promotion really helps–it gives them exposure to my audience, and vice versa.
And a lot of times, we’ll time the mural installation for right before a grand opening to build excitement and buzz. There’s nothing like a fresh mural to get people talking and sharing on social media. It becomes a win-win for everyone involved!
Over the years, I’ve been honored to partner with so many incredible businesses. Here are just a few of the commercial clients I’ve had the pleasure of creating murals for:

Each project has been unique, and I love getting to bring each business owner’s vision to life in a way that represents their brand!

If you’re considering a mural for your business, here’s how we would get started:
Step One: Discussing Your Vision
The process starts with me learning all about your project! I want to know your vision, your goals, the location, your timeframe – all of it. This is where we dream big and figure out how a mural can best serve your business.
Step Two: Space Assessment & Proposal
I’ll assess the space either in person or from photos you send me. After calculating the square footage, I’ll create a detailed quote and proposal for you.
Step Three: Making It Official
Once the agreement is signed and the deposit is made, I’ll dive into the creative process!
Step Four: Design Mockup
I hand-draw and design a mockup to scale, showing exactly how the mural will look in your space. You’ll receive 1-2 concepts and, if needed, 1-2 rounds of revisions. I want to make sure it’s exactly what you’re envisioning for your commercial space.
Step Five: Time To Paint
Depending on the size of the wall, painting typically lasts between 1-4 days. Every space is a little different of course, but this is the average that I’ve found. And throughout the process, I’m sharing behind-the-scenes content and tagging your business to build that excitement and anticipation.
If you’re a business owner looking to make a lasting impression, stand out from the competition, and create a space that people remember, let’s talk! Whether you’re in the Dallas area or beyond, I’d love to hear about your vision and help bring it to life.
Commercial murals aren’t just about making a wall look pretty, though they definitely do that too! They’re about creating an experience, building your brand, and making your space somewhere people want to be.
