This Dallas mural project was a long time in the works, so I’m extra excited to be sharing it today! And what’s even better – it was for a brand new business that just had its grand opening this past weekend, so we’re celebrating with a blog post about the mural!
Y’all, have you tried pickleball yet?!? I’m so into this craze. At Fault is a new pickleball/entertainment venue here in Farmers Branch, and I was so pumped when they asked me to paint a mural in their main court area. It’s such a cool concept – they have indoor and outdoor pickleball courts, a restaurant, and two bar areas. So fun!
I actually designed this mural months ago and had been waiting a while to paint it due to construction. During the waiting period, there was lots of problem-solving that we had to do before being able to start. I had to figure out the logistics of working around the construction crew’s schedules which made things a little tricky. Then the client decided to add some padding to the wall that the mural was going on, making it so the mural design would need to start five feet above the ground. I had to rescale the design several times in order to make it work.
All in all though it was well worth the wait and the planning! I love how it turned out. I’m also proud of myself for pushing myself with the color palette. It was a bit of a stretch for me, but growth is a good thing!!
While I love traveling for work, painting murals here in my hometown is my favorite. And this project was no exception! Reach out if you’re looking to start a mural project together!
